disseminate their eco-specific knowledge on management of natural resources.
A series of such interactions have generated
rich data and artefacts, besides a good collection of
varieties of plant-species from different regions of India.
Two pockets of the IGRMS
campus in Bhopal, have been developed into Ethno-botanical
gardens on different themes. The ethno-botanical
plants species collected from different regions. These species are
classified into different categories
viz. ethno-medicinal plants, marriage group, storal plants, nakshatra
plants, sacred plants, sacred groves etc. With the help and support of community
representatives from the following States, proto-types of sacred groves/
shrines have also been developed in the Museum campus:
IGRMS is concerned with
portrayal of inter-relationship
of Man with various plant-species
around his environment as sources of food, medicines and ceremonial rituals.

Sacred Grove (Travelling Exhibition)
